Police Log No.CI09417

There have been numerous calls received in N. Devon trying to obtain Bank/Credit card details. They claim your BT Bill is outstanding and require your details to pay the bill. These are bogus callers so do not give out your details over the phone to anyone. BT and the Banks do not work like this.

Also there was a message about cold callers asking to do jobs for you, do not get involved in these, as the work is poor (if done) and they charge large sums of money.

There have also been calls in the Barnstaple area of similar instances. This time the caller is telling the person on the other end of the line that they have won £85,000 from Reader's Digest and asking for an upfront payment to release the money. Again, Reader's Digest do not work like this. DO NOT give out your bank details.

Last of all do not let anyone into your house you cannot identify.
